Corporate Interview & B-roll Filming
Professional interviews and relevant supporting footage planned as one efficient production. We film the people, workplace, products and processes needed to give the editor a clear story to work with.
ONE SHOOT, TWO TYPES OF COVERAGE
What we capture
✓ Staff, customer and executive interviews
✓ Workplace, product and process b-roll
✓ Single or multi-camera interview setups
✓ Filming-only or edited delivery
✓ Footage organised for your own editor
INTERVIEW & B-ROLL FILMING
TWO PARTS. ONE PRODUCTION DAY.
TWO PARTS. ONE PRODUCTION DAY.
Interview filming and b-roll do different jobs
Keeping the two roles clear makes the page easier to understand — and makes the shoot easier to plan.
01
Interview filming
We prepare the interview position, lighting and sound before the contributor is needed. In our experience, this saves staff time and keeps the available window focused on the conversation.
For sit-down interviews, a second camera can give the editor a clean way to shorten answers or remove repetition without obvious jump cuts.
02
B-roll filming
Where possible, we capture key b-roll after the interview. By then we know which products, people, processes and locations have actually been discussed, so time is spent filming material the editor is more likely to use.
We usually favour complete actions over very short fragments because longer takes give the editor more freedom to build sequences and cover shortened answers.
WHY PLAN THEM TOGETHER?
More useful footage from the same window
The aim is not to shoot more for the sake of it. The interview tells us what the supporting footage actually needs to show.
✓ Less wasted coverage
✓ Better visual support for the spoken story
✓ More options for shorter edits
AGENCY & PRODUCTION SUPPORT
Your shoot, your workflow
We can work directly for a business or fit into an agency or production-company brief, including filming-only assignments and organised footage handover.
White-label filming for agencies
We can work under your company or agency lead, deal directly with your producer on the day and hand the material back without competing for the end client. For larger briefs, see our film crew hire.
Raw footage supplied to your specification
If your own editor is cutting the project, we can follow the requested frame rate, codec, picture profile, naming and media-handover requirements. See our raw footage capture service.
Edited delivery
Where required, we can take the same material through post-production and video editing, including colour, sound, graphics, captions and agreed delivery versions.
Match an existing camera and post-production workflow
For filming-only work, the camera family, resolution, frame rate, log profile, audio arrangement and file structure can all be agreed before the shoot.

CHOOSING THE FILMING WINDOW
Half-day or full-day?
The right length depends on the number of contributors, working areas and shots needed — not simply the running time of the final video.
Focused half-day shoot
Best for one location, one or two contributors and a defined list of supporting shots. A compact setup keeps the day moving when access or staff availability is limited.
Full-day interview & b-roll shoot
More time allows for additional contributors, a polished sit-down setup, more working areas and a broader range of b-roll. Drone footage can also be included where permissions and conditions allow.
Edited delivery
One main film, individual interviews, website versions and social cuts can all be agreed before editing.
Footage handover
Original camera files can be supplied, or we can prepare easier-to-use files with synchronised sound and a neutral colour conversion.
EXPERIENCE-LED APPROACH
Decisions based on what works on real shoots
MJ Films is founder-operated. The choices below come from filming interviews and b-roll on real client locations, where staff time, access, noise and working activity often matter as much as the camera setup.
Set up before the contributor is needed
In our experience, we get the interview position, lighting and sound ready first because those adjustments can take longer than expected. This saves the contributor waiting around and allows their available time to be spent answering questions.
Let the interview guide the b-roll
We often film the key interview before finalising all the b-roll because it tells us what the story actually needs to show. This saves time collecting generic coverage and allows the remaining filming window to focus on the people, products and processes that have actually been discussed.
Use a second camera when it helps the edit
For sit-down interviews, we often recommend a second camera because it creates natural edit points. That can save unnecessary retakes and allows contributors to answer more naturally while still giving the editor room to shorten or combine responses cleanly.
Film complete actions, not random fragments
We usually let an action run from a clear beginning to a clear end because complete takes are more useful in the edit. This may add a few seconds to each shot, but it saves time later and allows the editor to build stronger sequences or cover shortened interview answers.
