MJ Films Workflow: Location Analysis, Booking, Advance Payment, and Planning
MJ Films recognises the impact of the UK's unpredictable weather on aerial drone photography and videography. Therefore, we employ a pragmatic and adaptable planning strategy for our clients' assignments.
Drone operations under inclement conditions such as heavy rain or strong gusts are impractical. Moreover, our clients' specific scheduling needs can dictate the operational windows for our drone flights.
Your Initial Input
To initiate the process, we require the exact shoot location (complete with postcode), your preferred scheduling, and an exhaustive brief. The more comprehensive the details you provide regarding your desired outcomes from the photos and videos, the more precisely we can align our services with your vision.
Initial Location Review
After collating your information, we begin with an office-based preliminary review of the location using digital tools. This stage is crucial for evaluating the shoot's viability, pinpointing any potential obstacles, and identifying any flight restrictions or additional authorisations that might be necessary.
In the context of larger production projects where drone aerial photography forms just a fraction of the entire endeavour, our strict compliance with our CAA license requirements remains non-negotiable. This might involve an on-site visit to conduct a detailed pre-flight check.
Given that each project is unique and can be influenced by a myriad of external factors affecting when and where we can film, our forward-thinking planning strategy is designed to reduce possible disruptions. At MJ Films, we're dedicated not only to fulfilling your aerial photography and videography requirements but also to guaranteeing a seamless, efficient, and trouble-free process throughout.
Weather Strategy
At MJ Films, we closely track the weather predictions starting from five days ahead of any scheduled shoot. If the outlook appears challenging, we engage with our clients 48 hours in advance of the shoot.
In instances where the weather conditions are not conducive, we offer to move the shoot to an alternative suitable date without any extra charges, and the initial booking deposit will be applied to the rescheduled date. Given the variable weather in the UK, our approach is to maintain utmost flexibility, ensuring that arrangements can be adjusted as needed.
If rescheduling proves impossible due to unique circumstances like live events or the client's limited availability, it's important to note that MJ Films is unable to refund the booking deposit.
Should we agree to proceed on the originally planned date amidst uncertain weather, our committed pilots will stay on site for the maximum possible duration, in the hope of a weather improvement to conduct the shoot as planned.
