Making the most of the filming window
Most of our assignments involve filming interviews alongside supporting b-roll, giving the finished edit both a clear spoken message and the visuals needed to illustrate it. Sometimes we are given only a small window—as little as two hours—so the schedule has to be tightly planned around contributor availability, access to working areas and the activity taking place on site.
Where more time is available, we can capture a broader range of footage showing people at work, products, processes, buildings and other details connected to what is being discussed. This gives the editor more options, helps cover shortened answers naturally and can provide material for additional versions, social clips or future use.
Examples of interview and b-roll projects
Below are examples of projects combining interviews with supporting footage across different locations and sectors. Half-day and full-day filming packages are available, depending on the number of contributors, locations and shots required.
Half-day or full-day filming?
Consider how much of the business needs to be covered. A simple operation with one or two people may fit comfortably into a half day, while a larger organisation with several staff, services, locations or working areas will usually need a full day.
Focused half-day shoot
Best for brief standing or candid interviews with one or two contributors, combined with a focused selection of b-roll at one location. A compact setup keeps filming quick and flexible within the available window.
Full-day interview and b-roll shoot
More time allows for polished sit-down interviews using additional lighting and a second camera. It can also cover several contributors, different working areas and a broader range of b-roll, with drone footage where permissions and conditions allow.
Edited films and content versions
The footage can be shaped into one main film, individual interview edits, shorter website versions and social clips. Formats and running times are agreed before editing, allowing one shoot to supply content for several platforms.
Footage handover options
Original camera files can be supplied for your own editor, preserving the recorded resolution and colour profile. Alternatively, we can prepare easier-to-use MP4 files with synchronised sound, basic audio leveling and a neutral colour conversion.
