VIDEO PRODUCTION HULL & EAST YORKSHIRE
Video production for Hull’s working industries.
Ports, manufacturing, energy, logistics and business organisations across Hull and East Yorkshire.
Corporate films, interviews, case studies, induction films and events are planned around operational sites and real working schedules rather than asking the site to stop for the camera.

PLAN AROUND THE OPERATION
PORTS · LOGISTICS · ENERGY · MANUFACTURING
Film live operations without getting in the way of them
Operational waterfront and energy locations may require security, escorts, inductions, PPE and approval for equipment or specific areas. The filming plan has to follow the real working timetable rather than assuming vessel movements, deliveries, lifting operations or production will wait for the camera.
Confirm permissions before travel. Visitor details, escorts, inductions, PPE and approved filming areas are established before the day.
Build around access windows. Loading, vessels, deliveries, lifting operations and shifts determine when useful footage is possible.
Prepare for exposed conditions. Wind, weather and exterior sound on the Humber need appropriate camera support, sound planning and alternative coverage.
Protect sensitive operational information. Screens, manifests, vehicle details, customer branding and restricted areas can be excluded without losing useful context.
Connect scale with detail. Wide port, warehouse, turbine and site views establish scale; close details of teams, components, controls and processes make the activity understandable.

Recent Hull filming, planned as part of national production work
MJ Films has recently worked on a filming project in Hull and regularly travels nationally for production work. That practical experience includes planning crew travel, equipment, access and a usable schedule for filming away from base while coordinating with the people responsible for the location.
TWO PRACTICAL WAYS TO WORK
Complete production or focused filming support
Complete production can cover access planning, interviews, operational footage, editing, captions, graphics and delivery for company films, case studies, inductions and project communications.
Focused filming support gives agencies and internal teams a camera crew for a port, factory, warehouse, energy site or East Yorkshire location, with organised footage handed back for their own edit.

VIDEO PRODUCTION HULL FAQ
Booking, pricing and practical production questions
Lead time, deposits, balance payments, travel, date changes, fixed pricing, port requirements and multi-location filming.
How much notice do you need for a filming day?
More notice gives the best choice of dates, particularly when the production needs several crew members, specialist equipment, multiple locations or complex site access. Short-notice shoots may be possible depending on availability, so send the preferred date and brief as soon as you can.
How do I secure a filming date?
A 50% payment secures the booking and filming date once the scope and quotation have been agreed. Until that payment is received, the date cannot be treated as confirmed.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining 50% is due one week before filming. This is the standard MJ Films payment schedule: 50% to secure the booking and the remaining 50% one week before the filming date.
Are travel and accommodation included in the quote?
Yes. Any travel and accommodation required for the agreed production are included in the quoted total, so you know the full production cost before booking.
What happens if our filming date needs to change?
Tell us as early as possible and we will check suitable replacement dates. Any effect on the booking depends on the notice given and on crew, travel, accommodation, venues or suppliers already committed, so we explain the position against the agreed terms before the date is moved.
Do you quote a fixed project price or charge by the hour or day?
For a defined production, we normally provide a fixed quoted total based on the agreed planning, crew, filming, equipment, travel, accommodation, editing and deliverables. Focused filming-only support may be scoped by a half day or day, but the quotation still states the agreed cost before booking rather than leaving the project as an open-ended hourly bill.
What information do you need before filming at a port or offshore-wind site?
We need the site contact, access and security process, induction requirements, PPE rules, permitted and restricted areas, planned activity, vehicle or vessel controls and any rules for cameras, radio equipment or drone operations. The site remains responsible for its operational safety procedures.
Can you cover a Hull site and another East Yorkshire location in one day?
Potentially. We check access windows, travel time, contributor availability and the amount of footage required at each location. A port or controlled industrial site can take longer to enter and move around, so the schedule must allow for that rather than treating the two stops as simple addresses.
