Raw Footage Capture

Shoot Once, Use for Years

Build a library of professional footage that can be repurposed for websites, social media, recruitment, presentations, advertising and future video projects

Many clients now prefer filming only — no full edit, just professionally captured footage ready for their own editor, agency or in-house team.

Others simply want to build a library of footage for future use. Interviews, workplace scenes, events and day-to-day activity can all become valuable assets later, whether for social media, recruitment, presentations, websites or future marketing campaigns.

MJ Films provides professional raw footage capture for businesses, agencies, producers and content teams who need clean, well-organised footage delivered in the format that suits their workflow.

Filming Built Around Your Workflow

Every shoot is planned with the edit in mind.

That means thinking about coverage, continuity, sound, frame rates, codecs, colour profile, file structure and delivery before filming begins.

Interviews, B-Roll and Aerial Footage

Raw footage shoots can include sit-down interviews, natural conversation, presenter-led pieces, workplace footage, product details, process filming, event coverage, drone shots and general B-roll.

The aim is simple: give your editor enough strong material to build the finished film properly.

Raw Footage Delivery

We work to your editor's requested camera settings and delivery specifications.

Whether your editor requires S-Log3, S-Cinetone, ProRes, Long GOP, 4K UHD, vertical framing, proxy files, separate audio tracks or footage matched to an existing camera system, these requirements can be agreed before filming.

Raw footage is supplied exactly as recorded on the camera, with no editing, colour grading, audio processing, titles or graphics. This is often the most cost-effective delivery option for clients with their own post-production team.

After filming, footage can be delivered via SSD, hard drive or online transfer, depending on file size. Files can also be organised by camera, interview, location, scene or shoot day to help your editor begin work quickly.

Please note that 4K and RAW camera files can be extremely large and may require delivery on a physical drive. Smaller HD or processed files are often suitable for online transfer. If footage needs to be organised, synced, transcoded, colour corrected, uploaded or prepared for editing, additional post-production charges may apply.

If you require a specific codec, resolution, frame rate, naming convention or folder structure, please let us know before filming. Where a client is supplying footage to an external editor, broadcaster or post-production team, these requirements are essential. We will always ask about delivery specifications before the shoot, as camera settings often need to be configured in advance and cannot be changed after filming without affecting the final workflow.

For Agencies, Editors and Production Teams

This service is ideal for agencies, marketing teams, remote producers and editors who need a reliable camera operator to capture footage on location without needing a full edit package.

MJ Films can work from your shot list, creative brief or production notes, or help shape the filming plan before the shoot.

Raw Footage Filming Across the UK

MJ Films works across Wales, Bristol, London, and wider UK.

For larger projects, additional camera operators, drone pilots, sound recordists or crew can be arranged where needed.

Two Delivery Options

Not all clients mean the same thing when they ask for "raw footage".

Option 1: Camera Originals

The footage is supplied exactly as recorded by the camera, including the original codec, picture profile, frame rate and file structure captured on the day.

No editing, colour correction, sound processing or file preparation is carried out.

Because the files are copied directly from the camera media with minimal handling, this is usually the quickest and most cost-effective delivery option.

Option 2: Editor-Ready Footage

The footage remains unedited, but is prepared for post-production. This can include syncing external audio, basic colour correction, removing accidental clips, camera shake, test recordings or unusable shots, and exporting editor-friendly files such as ProRes or MP4. This option helps save time for editors who want organised footage without requiring a full video edit.

The most suitable option depends on your workflow, editor and intended use. We can discuss requirements before filming and recommend the best approach.
