CAMERA OPERATOR / EPK / BTS

READY FOR THE CALL SHEET

DIRECT CAMERA-OPERATOR SUPPORT

Join the production as camera operator or self-shooting director

For agencies, broadcasters, producers, production companies and in-house teams, the job can be as simple as supplying an experienced camera operator and the right kit for the brief. For smaller factual, documentary, corporate and branded productions, Mark can also work as a self-shooting director, combining camera operation with interviews, story-led coverage and practical on-location decisions.

That may mean running principal camera for interviews, working as B-camera alongside another operator, following a director or producer’s shot list, filming EPK and BTS material around a larger unit, or delivering organised raw footage for your own editor.

The production style can stay observational and low-profile for TV, factual and behind-the-scenes filming, or become more controlled with lighting, sound and a larger camera package when the visual treatment needs it. If you want the same production handled through post, the footage can also move into professional video editing and final delivery.

Work from a supplied brief or shot list

Camera settings, frame rates, picture profile, lenses, shot priorities and delivery requirements can be agreed before the call so the material drops cleanly into the wider production.

Operate as main camera, B-camera or self-shooting director

The setup can work as a self-contained principal camera package, as B-camera alongside an existing crew, or as a self-shooting director package where one person needs to handle the visual story, interviews and camera work.

Keep EPK and BTS filming unobtrusive

Behind-the-scenes work often benefits from a small footprint, quick repositioning and awareness of the main production. Coverage is shaped around what can be captured without getting in the way.

Hand over organised footage

Rushes can be supplied in an agreed folder structure with clear media organisation, and synced or prepared material can be included where that forms part of the brief.

FREELANCE CAMERA OPERATOR SERVICES

Camera coverage that can scale to the production

Some productions need one operator who can arrive with a complete camera package and work independently. Others need an experienced camera operator to slot into an existing crew. The kit and working style are shaped around the call sheet rather than forcing every job into the same setup.

EPK & behind-the-scenes

On-set and location coverage for electronic press kits, behind-the-scenes pieces, cast and crew interviews, observational footage and publicity material captured around the main unit.

How we approach EPK production

Leadership, customer and staff interviews with professional sound, controlled lighting and supporting workplace b-roll where the brief requires it.

Observational location filming, contributor interviews, actuality, sequences and supporting footage for television, factual, documentary and online productions, using a compact camera package that can move quickly when the story changes.

Events & conferences

Panels, presentations, conferences, launches and live events covered with the camera position, lensing and audio workflow agreed around the venue.

Event filming

Drone filming

Aerial establishing shots, property, site, landscape, TV and production-support footage using DJI Mavic 4 Pro or DJI Mini 5 Pro where permissions, airspace and weather allow.

Professional aerial filming

CAMERA & PRODUCTION KIT

Sony FX6 and FX5 with a flexible location package

The camera package can be kept lean for EPK, documentary and fast-moving location work, or expanded with additional lenses, monitoring, stabilisation, lighting and audio where the production needs a more controlled setup.

Sony cinema cameras

Sony FX6 and Sony FX5 camera bodies for principal-camera, interview, documentary, EPK and branded-content work. Camera choice can be matched to the production workflow and required rig size.

Professional lenses

Sony E-mount lenses include wide, standard and telephoto options for interviews, observational shooting, controlled corporate setups and longer-lens event coverage.

DJI aerial options

DJI Mavic 4 Pro and DJI Mini 5 Pro give two practical aerial options for establishing shots, sites, property, landscape and production support where flying conditions allow.

Audio

Radio microphones, shotgun microphones and field recording options can be added for interviews, contributor audio and location sound when the camera role includes a self-contained sound setup.

Monitoring & transmission

On-camera and external monitoring plus wireless video options can support producers, directors or clients who need a separate view of the camera feed.

Support & movement

Tripod, monopod and DJI RS-series gimbal support can be selected around interviews, observational movement, walkthroughs and more controlled tracking shots.

EPK & BTS CAMERA WORK

Capture the material around the production without becoming the production

EPK and behind-the-scenes filming often needs a different approach from the main unit. The camera operator has to anticipate useful moments, work around restricted access and resets, recognise when the principal crew needs space, and still come away with material that can build a coherent piece.

Coverage can include cast and crew interviews, director or producer comments, rehearsals, preparation, location details, working shots, equipment, atmosphere and observational material between takes.

The setup can stay compact and handheld when mobility matters, or use controlled lighting and sound for scheduled interviews. Footage can be supplied to an existing EPK producer or editor, or shaped into finished content where post-production is included in the brief.

FILMING ONLY OR COMPLETE PRODUCTION

Hand over the rushes or take the production through the edit

Raw footage for your editor or agency

Commission the camera work without paying for an edit you do not need. Interviews, b-roll, TV and factual material, events and drone footage can be captured to your required resolution, frame rate, picture profile and file structure.

Handover can be the untouched camera originals or editor-ready material prepared with agreed organisation, syncing, proxies or colour normalisation.

Editing and finished delivery

If you want one person to carry the job beyond the filming day, the same material can be edited into a finished EPK, interview film, case study, corporate video, factual piece or shorter campaign content.

Post-production can include picture editing, colour correction, sound, music, titles, graphics, captions and delivery of landscape, vertical, clean or social versions agreed in the brief.
