PROMOTIONAL VIDEO PRODUCTION UK

Promotional Video Production

Give people a clear reason to notice what you do

Short and long-form promotional films for businesses, products, services and campaigns. MJ Films plans, shoots and edits practical promo content for websites, sales teams, launches, exhibitions and social media — with the production scaled to the idea rather than a fixed formula.

PLAN THE MESSAGE

Start with what the viewer should understand or do next

Give the film one clear job

A homepage introduction, product launch, sales film and recruitment-facing promo are not the same edit. We decide what the viewer should understand, feel or do after watching before choosing the structure and shots.

Choose the right story shape

Some promotional videos work best around an interview and strong b-roll. Others need a presenter, voice-over, product demonstration or a more visual sequence with little dialogue. The format follows the message rather than the other way round.

Plan the shorter versions before filming

If the same shoot needs a main film, 30-second cut-downs, vertical clips, silent exhibition loops or website headers, we plan for those outputs while the cameras are there instead of trying to force them from the leftovers.

Make the location part of the story

Offices, workshops, hospitality spaces, products, people and real activity often say more than a generic backdrop. We work around the location and timetable to capture useful evidence of what makes the business or service worth showing.

Know when the brief needs a bigger production

A straightforward business promo can stay compact. If the idea needs actors, styled sets, scripted scenes or a more cinematic narrative, we can scale into a brand film or wider marketing video production without pretending every job needs the same crew.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT KIND OF PROMO

Different promotional films do different jobs

A fast event highlights film needs a different approach from a story-led brand film or a wider marketing campaign. Choose the route closest to what you need and see how we approach that type of production.

SELECTED PROMOTIONAL WORK

Product range, real-world service, event energy and technical capability all call for a different pace and visual approach.

Product range & sales promotional video

A promotional film can make stock, capability and choice immediately visible to prospective customers.

Finance promotional video

Shot in half a day, this finance promo uses voice-over and purposeful supporting footage to create a concise, energetic film.

Trade-show & technical content

Clean product and process footage can work as a stand-alone loop or as part of a broader promotional campaign.

FROM BRIEF TO DELIVERY

Keep the production focused on where the film will actually be used

01 — Audience, message and action

Agree who needs to watch, what they need to understand and the most useful next step after the film.

02 — Structure, contributors and locations

Choose interviews, presenter, voice-over, demonstrations or visual sequences and identify the locations that best support the message.

03 — Film the main story and the useful extras

Capture the core promotional film while protecting time for cut-downs, product detail, clean b-roll, stills or additional formats agreed in the brief.

04 — Edit for each platform

Shape the strongest material into the main film, then adapt pacing, captions, aspect ratio and duration for the website, social channels, exhibitions or paid campaigns.

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO FAQ

Questions worth settling before the shoot

How long should a promotional video be?

There is no useful fixed length. A homepage promo may only need 60–90 seconds, while a more detailed product, destination or service film can justify several minutes. We decide the duration from the amount of information the viewer genuinely needs.

Do we need a script?

Not always. Interview-led and documentary-style promos often benefit from questions and a clear structure rather than memorised wording. Presenter pieces, adverts and voice-over films normally need tighter scripting.

Can one shoot create several versions?

Yes. It is often more efficient to plan a main edit together with shorter landscape, square or vertical versions while the production is being designed. That affects framing, interview answers and the amount of supporting footage we capture.

Can you provide actors, presenters or voice-over?

Yes. Where the concept needs it, the production can include professional actors, presenters, voice-over artists, make-up, additional crew, studio hire or specialist equipment. These are quoted around the actual brief.

Can you film while our business is operating?

Usually. We plan around customers, staff, production schedules, noise, access and any confidential areas. Real activity often makes a stronger promotional film than an empty workplace staged solely for the camera.

What is the difference between a promo and a brand film?

A promotional video is usually focused on a specific business, product, service or offer and what the viewer should understand about it. A brand film can be more conceptual or story-led, sometimes using actors, scripted scenes and a more cinematic treatment.

How is this different from marketing video production?

This page focuses on producing the promotional film itself. A broader marketing video brief may involve a campaign, multiple pieces of content, advertising variations and a more detailed distribution plan.

Can you supply the raw footage as well?

Yes, where agreed in the quote. We can also deliberately capture an organised raw footage library for your internal marketing team or agency rather than treating unused clips as an afterthought.

Can drone footage be included?

Yes, where the location, airspace, weather and permissions allow. Aerial footage can be useful for premises, destinations, developments, outdoor activity and establishing scale. See our drone filming service.

How much does promotional video production cost?

Cost depends on filming time, locations, crew, contributors, equipment and the number of finished versions. A compact business promo and a scripted campaign with actors are fundamentally different productions. Our video production pricing gives current starting points, and we quote the actual brief before filming.
