Product films, business video, site training, interviews and live events across Somerset
MJ Films works with businesses and organisations across Somerset, from focused promotional shoots and product demonstrations to operational training, interviews, events and live streaming. The crew is built around what the location and finished content actually need.
Recent Somerset work includes a product film at Morrisons' Bridgwater distribution centre and a three-day driver-induction production on a working waste-recycling site in Weston-super-Mare.
BUSINESS VIDEO PRODUCTION SOMERSET
PLAN · FILM · DELIVER
USE THE FILMING DAY WELL
Plan the outputs first, then build the shoot around the real location
A product launch, driver induction, customer interview and conference all need different coverage. The useful starting point is what the audience needs to understand and what files the client needs back — then the camera, lighting, sound and crew can be matched to the job.
Product films need repeatable action
For product demonstration video production, the operating sequence is mapped before filming so wide shots, detail and results can be captured without losing an essential stage.
Working sites dictate the order of the day
For site filming, inductions and operational content, vehicle movement, PPE, restricted areas and process timing matter more than a neat studio-style schedule.
Interviews should add knowledge, not slow the site down
Directors, engineers, customers and site specialists can be filmed efficiently with a prepared interview position, then supported by interview and B-roll filming around the workplace.
Events need camera, sound and connectivity planned together
Conference and event work can combine event filming with professional live streaming when remote viewers need to watch in real time.
One visit can produce more than one deliverable
A main film, shorter social edits, still photographs and organised footage can be planned together. See business photography and video editing and post-production.
CASE STUDY · BRIDGWATER, SOMERSET
Product demonstration filming for an automated Internal Trailer Wash system
FILMED AT MORRISONS DISTRIBUTION CENTRE
A technical product promo built around the machine actually working
This product film was shot at Morrisons' distribution centre in Bridgwater on a dark December day. The subject was a specialist automated Internal Trailer Wash (ITW) system — equipment designed to clean and sanitise the inside of food-distribution trailers between loads.
The challenge was to make a large industrial product easy to understand while filming it in its real working environment. A powerful production light was used to give the exterior working area shape and exposure despite the winter conditions.
Action cameras were placed where a conventional camera could not safely or practically give the same view, including close to the washing sequence inside the trailer. The operating cycle was repeated several times so wide shots, moving detail and close-up angles could be edited together as one clear demonstration.
It is a strong example of product demonstration video production and industrial video production working together.
01
Real operating environment
The product was filmed at a live distribution centre rather than isolated from the place it was designed to work.
02
Action-camera viewpoints
Small cameras provided close perspectives inside and around the trailer wash sequence.
03
Large lighting setup
A high-output production light helped overcome poor December daylight and keep the machine readable on camera.
04
Multiple controlled takes
Key parts of the wash cycle were repeated so the edit could move confidently between wide, detail and internal angles.

CASE STUDY · WESTON-SUPER-MARE, SOMERSET
Three days of site induction filming built around real vehicle routes and working areas
OPERATIONAL TRAINING ON A LIVE SITE
Film the route people really need to follow
This induction video was filmed at Towens waste-recycling centre in Weston-super-Mare.
Filming over three days gave enough time to cover the site in a logical sequence without trying to force every operation into one rushed visit. Vehicle arrivals, driving routes, loading areas, pedestrian zones and other site-specific details could be recorded where they genuinely happened.
The result is the kind of site induction video production that becomes more useful because viewers recognise the environment before they arrive. It also overlaps with training video production and operational site filming.
01
Three filming days
Enough time to cover routes, vehicle movement and operational areas without compressing the whole site into one rushed schedule.
02
Real driver journey
The camera follows the environment drivers actually encounter, making the induction easier to recognise and remember.
03
Working-site coverage
Filming was planned around live operations, access, safety procedures and areas that could not simply stop for the production.
04
Reusable training asset
The finished film gives the organisation a consistent induction that can be shown repeatedly before or during site access.
MULTI-CAMERA CAPABILITY
Somerset projects can scale beyond a single-camera filming day
When the brief moves from site or product filming into conferences and live events, the same production can scale to several cameras, venue audio, local recording and a live broadcast.
This example is from our wider portfolio and shows the kind of event filming and live streaming setup available for Somerset venues.
RIGHT-SIZE THE PRODUCTION
Start with the smallest crew that can cover the job properly
A focused business interview or promotional shoot can often stay compact. Technical products, active sites and live events may need extra camera angles, more lighting, dedicated sound, action cameras or a larger crew.
The Bridgwater trailer-wash film is a good example: the job needed a powerful light, small cameras for unusual viewpoints and repeated demonstrations of the machinery, but it still remained a focused product production rather than becoming a large commercial shoot.
Agencies can also book film crew hire or interview and B-roll filming when editing is handled elsewhere.

VIDEO PRODUCTION SOMERSET FAQ
Practical questions before filming in Somerset
How much does video production in Somerset cost?
Cost depends on filming time, crew, locations, access, equipment, editing and final deliverables. A focused product or interview shoot is very different from multi-day induction filming or a multi-camera live event. See our video production pricing for current starting points.
Can you film product demonstrations at a customer site?
Yes. The Bridgwater case study on this page was filmed in the product's real operating environment. For machinery and specialist equipment, see product demonstration video production.
Can you film in warehouses and distribution centres?
Yes. Access, vehicle movement, PPE, loading areas, safe camera positions and confidentiality are planned with the site team. See our site filming service.
Can difficult or dark locations be lit properly?
Yes. Lighting is chosen for the scale of the subject and available power. On the Bridgwater trailer-wash shoot, a powerful production light was used to support the poor December daylight.
Can action cameras be used around machinery?
Yes, where they can be positioned safely. Small cameras are useful for internal, low or close perspectives that would be awkward or unsafe for a conventional operated camera.
Can you film induction videos on active sites?
Yes. Our Weston-super-Mare driver-induction project was filmed over three days on a working waste-recycling site, covering vehicle routes, operational areas and site procedures. See site induction video production.
Can one filming day create several edits and photographs?
Often, yes. Shorter versions, still photographs and clean B-roll can be planned with the main film. See business photography and post-production.
Can you live stream conferences and events?
Yes. Multi-camera live production can include direct venue audio, local recording and a live broadcast. See live streaming.
Do you cover the whole of Somerset?
Yes. Filming can be planned across Bridgwater, Taunton, Yeovil, Frome, Wells, Street, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Minehead and surrounding areas. Bath has a separate dedicated location page.
What information is useful for a quote?
Send the location, preferred date, purpose, audience, contributors or product, access requirements and the final versions you need. For technical products, it also helps to explain the operating sequence and any action that cannot easily be repeated.
